CREATING YOUR YEAR
.1:1 – 3 ‘In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth………Then God said, “let there be light”; and there was light.
Eight days gone and the Ninth rolling away in the New Year 2009, have you created your year? How did you end 2008 and how did you enter into this year? There is always a place of creation in the beginning, and this is the beginning, have you created your year; in the beginning God created heaven and earth, be wise; by wisdom a city is built. Today! ,being the seventh is the day of perfection
You say how can you create, are you the maker? Yes you are, you are the maker of your year, 2009 will be what you make it to be for you and that is the simple reason why the year will not be the same for any two people; they decided what it should be differently and so it shall be to them. In our house; I mean my place of worship, we are taking advantage of the Great Grace God has endowed us with this year to quickly create the year. And God said; “let there be …… and there was”. Your words will create your world, mine will not create yours and yours will not create mine, create your 2009 by your words.
The good news I bring to you this morning is that nine days into the year is not late to decide what the remaining 356 days should be, you may blame yourself if you just see this piece as one of those good write ups without taking a deep thought over it and yield to the wise counsel therein. Your words will create the walls to lean on in 2009, if you created no wall you will have non to lean on and if there appears any, it is another man’s wall which can collapse at anytime or you be told to lean no more, create your walls. You were created in the image and attribute of God, and one of the attributes and capability of God is the creative initiative; the Bible says further that you are gods, so the power to create is in you, even in your tongue; use your tongue for your good this day; create 2009 by your words of prayers to God, tell Him what you want 2009 to be to you and it shall be just that.
2009 will be only what you create it to be, begin the creation now!
No, Not So!
Lk.1:59-60 ‘So it was, on the eighth day, that they came to circumcise the child; and they would have called him by the name of his father, Zacharias. His mother answered and said, “No, he shall be called John.”’
Yesterday I told us we have to decide what 2009 will be, so many churches and places of worship have named the year what they want it to be according to the leading of the Spirit and some members have keyed into it, yet I ask what will your year be called?; christen your year, not just by words of mouth but by covenant understanding and reasoning with God.
2009 may be what others call it for you just like neighbours and family members wanted to call John by his father’s name since his father was dumb as at then, it is your responsibility like Elizabeth did to say; No, not so, then name your year. May be you have a common attribute in your family, may be your situation in your family has given your family a name such that they call you all by that name, now 2009 is here and they want to call your 2009 in the line of what your family is known for, you have to rise up and say; No, not so.
The first assignment God gave man in the Bible was to name the creatures Gen.2:20, same way you must name your year and may be your months of the year. See God gave general names like the beast of the sea, the birds of the air, the grass of the field, the fish of the water e.t.c, but Adam gave specific names to each of them like goat, dog, cat fish, lion, tilapia, lily, mango, parrot e.t.c. God has given you 2009, January, February and all other months; what will you now name them such that it will be unto you according to the name you call them. By reason of your expectation and covenant walk with God do a christening today in prayers, it works don’t joke with it.
Faith is calling those things that are not as though they were; name your year and months.
