Bank and unrealistic targets

The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN has warned commercial banks operating in the country against placing unrealistic deposit targets on their marketers. The apex bank gave the warning during the 2014 Bank Directors Association of Nigeria stakeholders’ forum held in Lagos. The warning is as a result of the current practice by some financial institutions in the country whereby prospective employees are forced to meet unrealistic deposit target as a prerequisite for employment or promotion. The practice, according to the CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele who was represented at the forum by Oneybuchi Kelvin of the Banking Supervision Department, goes against the grains of acceptable ethical conduct and corporate governance. He told the gathering that the practice could induce negative moral implications. According to him, forcing bank marketers, especially females to meet unrealistic deposit targets could influence their decision to engage in illegal and immoral acts. To curtail this tr...

Election Season Nigeria.

This time around we should vote wisely, be independent in mind. Speak against monetization of vote, sales of voters cards at every opportunity. We are have reached a turning point in Nigeria, youth should desist from selling their card for cash.  Don't sell you future,  u can't sell four years for anything. If we vote correctly the following will be possible in our nation: 1. Stable power will be possible, we all know how much it cost us as individuals to maintain generators with the attendance health hazard. 2. Voting the right person will result into total rejuvenation of our Education, health, Agriculture, sport, communication and social life. 3. Nigeria will once again become pride of all Nations. 4. Of course employment opportunity will be created. We also have to continually encourage ourselves and counsel people against voters apathy.  Youth expecially should know it is our civil responsibility, it is about our future,  So I encourage all of us to go out e...

Church today : Forgiveness

I am so glad that our Father in heaven Tells of His love in the Book He has given; Wonderful things in the Bible I see: This is the dearest that Jesus loves me. I am so glad that Jesus loves me, Jesus loves me, Jesus loves me. I am so glad that Jesus loves me, Jesus loves even me. Though I forget Him and wander away, Still He doth love me wherever I stray; Back to His dear loving arms would I flee, When I remember that Jesus loves me. O, if there's only one song I can sing When in His beauty I see the great King, This shall my song in eternity be: "O what a wonder that Jesus loves me." Matthew 18:21-35 ASV Then came Peter and said to him, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? until seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times; but, Until seventy times seven. Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, who would make a reckoning with his servants. And when he had begun to...

A LESSON FOR ALL NIGERIANS

By Elvis Iyorngurum   Mubi, the biggest commercial town in Adamawa state, was thrown into chaos the day Boko Haram descended on it and the people found themselves running for their lives. The terrorists shot sporadically, killing a lot of people while those who could escape jumped into any available car to run to safety. Christians, Muslims, Igbos, Yorubas, Tivs, Hausas and any tribe or religion, jumped into any vehicle that was headed outside the town. Soldiers scampered onto trucks with civilians, begging to be saved, hundreds of people who could not get a vehicle ran into the hills. In their frantic effort to stay alive, no one paid attention to anybody's religion or ethnicity before asking them for help or helping them to stay alive. It was a community of people, united by their desire to escape the common enemy that hunted them all without discrimination. Ethnicity and religion vanished, all they were left with was their humanity. Those climbing the hills stayed togethe...

40million Nigeria Cars and National Development

http://www.forwardnigeria.ng/40m_nigerians_can_afford_cars_under_jonathan_okonjo_iweala After reading piece contained in above link i can't but make some comments.  In my several years of studying macro and micro economy I have never come read write up where car ownership is solely used as determinant of economic development. Interestingly while writing this am rising on a mass transit bus , in the usual Lagos evening hold up. Of course I have to pack my car some weeks ago having experienced terrible hold up for the last 5 weeks. So back to the subject how does ownership of 40m cars translate to economic development.  I guess included in the cars are Tokunbos, second hand and many hand cars. I beg to ask what is the essence of car when: 1. You are scared to drive them for hold up 2. Roads are bad and scarcely maintained 3. Fueling cost outrageous despite the facet we are oil producing nation. 4. Driving cars in Nigeria is riskiest adventure. Ask car owners they will t...

Bad politicians are voted by Good people who don't Vote

Image
Nothing can be true as the fact that bad politicians are elected by good people who fail to vote, the same can also be said of good people who abstain from participating in politics. There is this common saying that third class graduate end up rulling the first class material, because when first class materials are busy building career and busy in the universities and further study , third class people are busy playing politics. The resultant effect is the third class lifestyle now being experienced in most part of developing world, just because we are not using our best brains. People that abstain from election always proof they have genuine reasons, but the best of thier reasons is to our undoing. We all need to participate in governance. So electioneering process; from registration to get voters card, voting and protection of vote should be seen as an ultimate responsibility. Agreed that this process can be cumbersome , time consuming and situation look hopeless but wh...

Why I did not promotion myself to General - General Muhammadu Buhari

Image
According to premium news A former Head of State, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd), has given insight into why he remained a Major General rather than promote himself to the rank of full General while he reigned as Nigeria’s Head of State between December 31, 1983 and August 27, 1985. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/140332-why-i-did-not-promote-myself-to-general-as-nigerias-head-of-state-buhari.com Could this be an exceptional transparent quality in the ex head of state. No matter how you see it this man will score hight on morality test.

Pastor Kehinde Odukoya RCCG Voice of the Trinity  Area Parish Magboro Psalm 19:1-5 NIV The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. In this month you I'll win all battles of life.
